The Sewing Machines Are Quiet, But God Is Not

The sewing machines have been quieter lately as our orders for garments from our shop Melissa’s Natural Fabrics has slowed.

Over the past few months, orders in our artisan workshop have dipped, local families are under financial pressure, and our usual rhythm has been interrupted in ways we didn’t expect.

It would be easy to see this as a setback. But we’re choosing to see it as a pause with purpose.

Here in Southern Romania, job needs are rising.

More families than ever are struggling to make ends meet. We know the need is still great, but it seems the Lord is shifting the way we meet it. We don’t know the full picture yet. We only know this: we are listening.

Our team has been praying earnestly: asking God to show us what’s next.

Are we being called to expand into something new? To return to a deeper kind of discipleship? To rebuild the workshop in a new direction? We don’t yet have the answers.

But what we do have is peace. Peace that He will open and close the right doors. Peace that His provision will be enough. Peace that what feels uncertain to us is already secure in His hands.

In this season, we are asking for three things:
🙏 Clarity to hear His voice
🙏 Provision to sustain the ministry while we wait
🙏 Courage to follow wherever He leads

If you’ve supported Maria Naomi in the past through prayer, giving, or visiting, we want to say thank you.

And if you’re reading this now and feel a nudge to step in more deeply, we welcome that too. Your monthly support helps us stay present in the in-between seasons.

If you believe in creating jobs that restore dignity… if you care about Gospel-centered work that reaches women and families in forgotten places… would you prayerfully consider becoming a monthly supporter?

We’re asking God to send 10 new monthly partners this season—people who will help sustain this ministry through the unknown and into what’s next.

👉 Your gift of $35, $75, or $100/month helps keep our ministry alive and ready to respond.
