Paul and Silas, Campfire Bread, and the Seeds of Faith

Earlier this month, we were blessed to welcome a group of six Bible school students for a short-term mission here in Southern Romania. Their time with us was full of laughter, full of labor, and full of God’s presence.

One of the sweetest moments came during a children’s outreach where we shared the story of Paul and Silas in prison. We gathered outside on the grass, the fire crackling nearby, and began with songs, games, and creative crafts. But the part the children loved most? Making bread on a stick over an open fire, and filling it with chocolate.

It may sound simple, but it was unforgettable.

Many of these children had never experienced something like this: the joy of creativity and the love Jesus can bring to their hearts. And in the middle of it all, they heard the Gospel. They heard that even in the hardest places, Jesus is near.

After the bread was finished and the games were done, the children lingered. They didn’t want to leave! And as we packed up, I kept thinking about how the Gospel can show up in the gentlest ways. in warm bread,

We’re continuing to pray that these seeds will take root. Many families in our village are spiritually open, but hesitant to follow Jesus fully. They know of Him, but don’t yet know Him. Please pray with us that hearts would soften and that these children would lead the way in faith.

And if you feel led, we’d be grateful for your help. It costs about $100 to run a full children’s outreach like this, from supplies to snacks. If you’d like to sponsor a day of Gospel joy for a village child, we’d be honored to partner with you.

Thank you for standing with us. Your support makes moments like these possible.
